what is  Technical Intern Training Program?

The Technical Intern Training Program aims to transfer skills, technologies, and knowledge developed in Japan to developing countries. Interns work in various industries, including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, and caregiving, to acquire skills that they can utilize upon returning to their home countries.

Eligibility

The program targets young individuals from developing countries, aged 18 to 35. Interns undergo training in Japanese companies for 3 to 5 years.

Costs for Applicants

According to the agreement between the Japanese and Myanmar governments, the maximum amount an applicant can pay to a sending institution is $2,800, but some sending institutions may pay other fees.

Training Stages

Basic training for 1 year.

Practical training for 2 years.

(Optional): Advanced training for 2 additional years.

Restriction on Job Changes

Interns are generally not allowed to change jobs to ensure they focus on acquiring specific skills. Exceptions can be made under certain circumstances, such as poor working conditions or company financial difficulties.

Management and Support

Immigration Services Agency:  Manages visa status and immigration.
Organization for Technical Intern Training (OTIT):  Protects interns' rights and oversees host organizations.
Sending Organizations: Based in home countries, these organizations select and train suitable interns.
Supervising Organizations: Manage and oversee the training conducted by host organizations.

Procedure for Technical Intern Training from Myanmar to Japan

Application and Selection:  Apply through a sending organization in Myanmar, which verifies eligibility.
Pre-departure Training:  Undergo language and cultural training.
Contract and Visa Application: Sign a labor contract, obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), and apply for a visa.
Travel and Entry to Japan: Prepare for departure, arrive in Japan, and pass through immigration.
Start of Training: Attend an orientation and begin practical training.
