That was no where near a prime Kostya (look at his physique in the fight compared to when he beat Chavez)2. Hatton went up against a prime Pacquiao. Yeah good on him he’s just not on the same level as those top welterweights. He had to show a bit more tonight to get attention. Probably come home and fight Mundine now.
Light Heavyweight
- He’s seen as someone who got an awful home town decision and then demolished in his next fight at that level.
- There is talk of Jacobs being next early next year after Fielding.
- Mundine has a smart mouth, but I don’t think he was that match unfit and susceptible to a knockout, so easily and by punching gloves.
- If you were going to throw a fight though you would at least go three rounds don’t you think that’s just an embarrassing way to go out.
He may be undefeated but his resume doesn’t seem that strong. He dominated a weak light welterweight division and he really struggled at times against tiny little Felix Diaz. “Queensberry and Top Rank are delighted to announce that WBC and lineal world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will defend his titles against Dillian Whyte following today’s purse bids,” Warren tweeted on Saturday.
Who won between Usyk and Dubois?
Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk defeats Daniel Dubois of the United Kingdom to unify the world heavyweight titles. The bout at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, was stopped after Dubois was floored twice in the fifth round. Usyk held the WBC, WBA and WBO belts, following his consecutive victories against Tyson Fury.
Even Horn said after the fight it landed well and he was able to take advantage as mundine was then trying to cover his body to much from then on. Yet if he wasn’t an “a-hole” and was some random no name you probably wouldn’t have even bother watching the fight much less jump on whirlpool and hour after the fight. He made a lot of money by going out of his way to be an a-hole – whatever he’s like away from the cameras that’s how he projects whenever someone interviews him. Its clearly a character he plays to get the punters interested in watching his fights.
How Jai Opetaia could be on brink of fight with undisputed champ as soon as Sunday
Mate I think when the moneys right and other opportunity’s are exhausted then those fights will happen, thats’ pro boxing in a nutshell. We’ve had Thurman v Porter/Garcia , usyk-vs-parker.com Spence v Brook and Joshua v Klit and when the time is right (money) we’ll get the ones we want. Super lightweight champion Liam Paro has a few hurdles to jump, but the 29-year-old Queenslander is hoping another major belt will be just the sweetener to bring Manny Pacquiao back to Australia. As well as hosting the first Beterbiev vs Bivol fight, the Kingdom Arena was also the venue for both Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk heavyweight thrillers last year (May 18 & Dec 21).
Horn in my opinion is pretty much the same as in all the magic came together for that one fight against Pacman but now it’s gone. I may well be wrong and end up with egg on my face but I do believe that Mundine will beat Horn and that Horn will retire. That is only way I know of to view the fight. There will be highlights on youtube some time after I would imagine. Will be interesting to see how Usyk fares at HW (assuming he goes up) in this era of super sized boxers.
He fades away now no one is putting him in a ring after that. “I’ve had a great career. Jeff proved tonight he was the better man. That’s the next generation, I’ll pass it on to him,” Mundine said after the fight. All the smack talk, you have to build the fight. Did people forget the beatings he toon against blokes like Clottey who fought at 140lbs and moved up to face Mundine at 154? This fight had disaster written all over it for Mundine. Now that he has his money, I suppose we will see him take a fight in the US.
